WHAT WE DO

"For some time our staff had been asking for a 401(k) benefit. My first impression was that providing this type of benefit for a group as small as ours might be on the expensive side. Not only did ASC Trust break this notion, they surpassed my expectations. We were able to start a plan that was both fairly priced and made sense with what we were looking for. In the end, the tailored-solution provided was exactly what our team needed."

For 25 years, ASC Trust has been a community-based, community minded company in Guam. We believe in establishing long-term relationships with clients and their participants and think of plan participants as family members preparing themselves for the future.

We serve two segments of the retirement plan population. Some clients are Fortune 500 companies, while others are small to mid-size companies who use ASC Trust both for the annual management of their employee benefit plans and to be the HR department for these plans.

We don’t offer a one-size-fits-all strategy for these two segments of our client base. We have the expertise to handle the complexities a large client with significant volume requires. And we have the local presence and services that our smaller clients need.

As a premier Third Party Administrative and Recordkeeping firm, ASC Trust serves by designing, administering and consulting on the best possible retirement plan for our clients and their employees. Our full range of services include:

Plan Design and Compliance

We provide all prospective clients with a complimentary plan design discussion to help you understand the important considerations involved in establishing a retirement plan that matches your long-term business objectives, your workforce demographics, tax objectives and your retirement requirements. It is our deep understanding of all areas of retirement plans combined with a constant commitment to customer service that sets us apart.

After deciding on the appropriate plan design with the sponsor, we will complete the plan documents to make them signature ready. Your plan document describes who is covered under your plan, i.e., who benefits under your plan, and what contributions or benefits will be provided to those covered employees and at ASC Trust, we perform these operations to ensure that your plan works in accordance with the terms of your plan document, allowing you to concentrate on what you know best: your business.

Put simply, a plan should not discriminate in favor of the highly compensated employees (generally owners and officers) and requires annual nondiscrimination testing. However, plan compliance is a crucial part of our annual review process and at ASC Trust we go beyond the required testing to make sure that the solutions we are providing you will yield the best long term results.

And, much like individuals have to file tax returns, so do qualified plans. We will complete the annual Government/IRS Forms including providing a Summary Annual Report (SAR) and will provide full audit support.

Recordkeeping and Administration

After implementation, a plan needs constant management to ensure that it is being processed efficiently and in compliance. ASC Trust provides annual administration including;

  • Determining who is eligible
  • Census and payroll collection
  • Allocate employer contributions
  • Calculate vesting
  • Preparing and processing distributions
  • Participant and plan reporting

The recordkeeping function is a critical part of today’s retirement plan environment. ASC Trust will manage all aspects of employee contributions, distributions, and any other financial transactions that may occur. We will execute trades on a daily basis and will maintain both participant and plan sponsor web sites for easy access to their retirement accounts.

Employee Communications and Retirement Planning

Timely communication and planning help ensure that out participants achieve their goals of a secure financial future. Our face to face meetings and regular updates help us do so and include

  • On-site employee meetings and service visits
  • Quarterly participant statements
  • Monthly participant newsletter
  • Participant Report Card for Success
  • Participant Introduction and Welcome Kit
  • One-on-one Advisory Meetings

Investments and Trustee Services

Through our electronic connections to our trading partners, we perform data aggregation and reconciliation of all plan investments. Our reports include consolidated statements, certified annual trust reports, daily plan activity files and performance reports. We also offer plan-level reporting on realized and unrealized gains and losses. Please refer to the main menu option “Investments” for more information on the investments and the target audience for each.

We process and prepare disbursements including plan expense payments and participant-related distributions. In addition, we settle trades and allocate contributions and process tax payments to Guam DRT, CNMI DRT and the US Treasury.
